Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Research

About the position
The associate provost and associate vice president for research leads MIT’s effort to grow and enhance the computing infrastructure and services for its research community. He also serves as the inaugural head of the Office of Research Computing and Data (ORCD). This newly created unit will work to develop innovative solutions that address emerging or highly specialized needs, and it will advance strategic collaborations with the industry. In addition, the associate provost and associate vice president for research will serve as a critical link between MIT’s Information Systems and Technology and the Massachusetts Green High-Performance Computing Center; he will also act as a link between ORCD and the MIT Libraries to leverage the Libraries’ expertise in data digitization.
