To the members of the MIT community,

At MIT, our commitment to excellence, innovation, and service propels us forward as individuals and as a community. And in this time of Covid, our community’s ingenuity, care, and perseverance are on vivid display. I am inspired by the positive changes our faculty, students, staff, and postdocs dare to imagine and then make happen.

To recognize and celebrate the tremendous work and achievements of our colleagues and friends, I encourage you to submit a nomination for the 2021 MIT Awards, a collection of over 40 awards that celebrate MIT community members for their excellence in academics, teaching, the arts, leadership, entrepreneurship, community building, and public service. These awards will be presented at a virtual MIT Awards Convocation on May 14, 2021. Details of the virtual event will be posted on the Awards Convocation website.

To learn more about the variety of awards and the nomination process, please visit the MIT Awards Convocation website. Questions can be directed to awards@mit.edu. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, March 26, 2021.

I hope you will take a moment to help us identify the people who have gone above and beyond to make exceptional contributions to our community’s vitality.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Barnhart, Chancellor
