To members of the MIT community:

On the evening of Saturday, April 29, 2017, we will come together for the OneWorld @ MIT Festival – a multicultural celebration of food, music, costume, and dance. You are invited to save the date for FUN!

The OneWorld @ MIT Festival, which follows SpringFEST week and Friday night’s concert (planned by the Undergraduate Association Events Committee), will begin with an early evening celebration of traditional costume and performance, all organized and presented by MIT’s diverse student body. Students and student groups, if you are interested in sharing your culture’s dance, music, song, and fashion traditions, our organizers want to hear from you! Please submit preliminary information about how you would like to participate in the cultural showcase by next Friday, March 17.

We learned at Moving Day 2016 that MIT knows how to party — and many of you told us that you want to keep the party going, so that’s exactly what we are doing! Starting at 9 pm on April 29, OneWorld @ MIT tent dance parties will take us across campus and around the globe.

There's no registration required for the OneWorld @ MIT Festival—it’s free and open to all members of our community.

More details about the evening’s programming will be available next month. In the meantime, you can help us plan the dance party menus with a vote for the kinds of food you prefer. And please join us in thanking the OneWorld @ MIT Festival committee for the excellent, creative planning they are doing to bring this multicultural celebration to life.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Barnhart
Chancellor
