To the members of the MIT community:

Every year, the Institute comes together at the MIT Excellence Awards and Collier Medal ceremony and reception to highlight the outstanding accomplishments and contributions of staff members. This year, we were unable to celebrate in March as planned.

I am delighted to announce that we will be honoring our 2020 MIT Excellence Awards and Collier Medal recipients with a video event on Wednesday, August 26. While this will not be our traditional ceremony in Kresge Auditorium, it is a great opportunity for us to gather together.

MIT Excellence Awards and Collier Medal Video Celebration
Wednesday, August 26, 3:00 – 3:45 p.m.

The MIT Excellence Awards – among the highest honors for staff members at the Institute – acknowledge our colleagues’ extraordinary dedication to MIT’s goals, values, and mission.

The Collier Medal honors the memory of Officer Sean Collier, who gave his life protecting and serving the MIT community more than seven years ago. In honor of Sean’s model citizenship, which far transcended the duties of his job, the Collier Medal celebrates an individual or group whose actions demonstrate the importance of community.

If you have questions, please contact Cori Champagne, Recognition Program Administrator in Human Resources, at excellence@mit.edu.

Please join me in honoring these remarkable individuals!

Sincerely,

Ramona Allen
Vice President for Human Resources
