New Experiential Learning Exchange

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the launch of the new Experiential Learning Exchange (ELx), a central portal for students to find and apply for all types of Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELOs) at MIT.

The exchange already features easy access to some of the most popular co-curricular programs on campus, including opportunities from UROP, MISTI, and the PKG Center.

To better serve our students, I am asking for your help to populate the administrative application with your office’s experiential learning opportunities and promote the site to students seeking ELOs for spring and beyond.

Here’s how it works…

  • MIT staff, faculty, and graduate students can post their ELOs to ELx using the administrative application at https://elx-admin.mit.edu. ELx offers a simple built-in application function (with tracking) or you can link to an external application system (like SurveyMonkey Apply) or enter an email address for students to contact for more information.

  • Current students can apply for ELOs and track their submitted applications within the site.

  • All MIT community members (via MIT certificates) can visit https://elx.mit.edu to view published ELO listings.

I am confident that ELx will become a valuable tool for our students during and beyond the current guaranteed ELO funding initiative. Likewise, the streamlined administrative application will make it easier to promote opportunities and run application processes.

Special thanks to IS&T for their excellent-- and quick!-- work to develop and launch ELx in time for the spring term. If you have any questions, please contact Kate Trimble, Senior Associate Dean and Director, Office of Experiential Learning (ktrimble@mit.edu).

Sincerely,

Ian
