About the position

The vice chancellor for undergraduate and graduate education is responsible for catalyzing, coordinating, and leading institutional efforts to enhance academic and student life. The vice chancellor partners with community members to make improvements for students in areas such as experiential learning; advising; professional development; the first-year undergraduate experience; and diversity, equity, and inclusion. This includes serving as the primary educational point of contact for key student organizations such as the Undergraduate Association and the Graduate Student Council and directly administering MIT’s relationship with the graduate student union. The vice chancellor partners with faculty governance and departmental and school administrators to implement and administer policies and procedures related to undergraduate and graduate education, including undergraduate admissions and financial aid. Reporting to the chancellor, the vice chancellor works closely with the vice chancellor and dean for student life, the dean for digital learning, and school, college, and department leadership.
