MIT Town Hall follow-up

To the members of the MIT community:

More than 10,000 of you watched and listened live to the second MIT Virtual Town Hall on Tuesday, May 5, and almost 600 questions and comments came in. I write to follow up on a number of topics we've been asked about.

1. On this page you will find responses to the most frequent questions from the Town Hall audience. We will update this FAQ page as we have further answers.
2. Some of you asked specifically about mental health support for students. Important resources can be found here.
3. MIT has extended its travel guidance until further notice.
4. Many of you asked about the medical science webinars mentioned by Dr. Bruce Walker. They are organized by the Massachusetts Consortium on Pathogen Readiness, which Dr. Walker co-leads with Dr. Arlene Sharpe:
   • The first symposium, on the Boston-wide response to Covid-19 (March 12).
   • The second one, on antibodies, prospects for treatment, vaccines, and return to work (April 17).
   • The third symposium, on virus detection methods and implications for safe return to work (May 1).

If you did not have a chance to join the Town Hall live, you can watch or listen to it any time.

Finally, we hope you will take part in the upcoming interactive sessions being designed for undergraduate and graduate students; staff in different categories; and faculty by School/College. We will share further details about these sessions in the coming days.
