Whitney T. Espich assumed the role of chief executive officer of the MIT Alumni Association in August 2017. Prior to that, she served as executive director of communications, events, and donor relations in MIT's Resource Development office. There, she played a significant role in launching the public phase of the MIT Campaign for a Better World, collaborating across MIT to share the campaign’s message with alumni and friends around the globe.

Her previous professional experience includes roles in Harvard University’s central development and alumni affairs office, as well as at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Citigate Cunningham, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello), and Mary Baldwin College.

Originally from Virginia, Espich holds a BA from Indiana University-Bloomington and master’s degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
