Make a plan to vote!

To the members of the MIT community,

As I do every fall, I'm writing to encourage everyone who is eligible to vote in the US to make a plan to participate in the upcoming elections. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Tuesday, September 15 is National Voter Registration Day and we are celebrating in the Kendall/MIT Open Space with Voterfest from 5 to 7 p.m. with music, activities, and student volunteers on hand to help you register to vote or check your voter registration status.  

Registration deadlines and voting options vary by state, so now is a good time to make sure you are prepared. MIT’s TurboVote can help you register or find out if you’re already registered, request an absentee ballot, or check the dates for elections in your state or territory. The PKG Public Service Center, with support from student leaders and MIT’s ALL IN Committee, has compiled additional resources with voting information, FAQs and how to get involved in civic engagement on campus.

With Election Day approaching, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check your registration, learn about the voting options available to you, and make a plan to vote. Let’s all do our part.
