Introducing Parley: MIT's Generative AI Platform
Dear members of the MIT community,
I am pleased to announce that, following a successful pilot, our Parley tool is now available to all MIT faculty, staff, and students.
As mentioned in yesterday’s letter from the provost, chancellor, and chair of the Faculty about AI use at the Institute, Parley is a secure, MIT-hosted platform that allows users to interact with multiple generative AI models through a single interface – while keeping data private and compliant with MIT’s information security policies.
With Parley, you can:
- Explore a variety of generative AI models in one interface
- Use features like file uploads, conversation branching, image generation, and code execution
- Access a trusted, MIT-managed environment for AI-assisted learning, research, and administrative tasks
Getting started is simple:
- Visit https://parley.mit.edu
- Sign in with your MIT credentials
- Begin exploring Parley by visiting this page in the IS&T Knowledge Base (VPN access required), or watch our recommended guided tour video to learn about the system’s features and personal quotas
All users must adhere to MIT’s AI Guidelines. For Parley support questions, contact parley-support@mit.edu. For general AI consultations or questions, please contact ai-guidance@mit.edu. IS&T will continue to improve and iterate on Parley in the months ahead based on community feedback.
Sincerely,
Gaspare LoDuca
Vice President for IS&T and Chief Information Officer
