Blockskye named MIT’s new travel management company
Dear colleagues,
I write to share important news for MIT travelers and travel planners. Effective July 1, 2025, Blockskye will be MIT’s new travel management company (TMC), providing agent-assisted reservations and online booking services through Concur.
We understand that travel booking and management touches many members of our community. The decision to transition to a new TMC followed an extensive review of MIT’s travel needs and incorporated input from stakeholders across the Institute.
The transition to Blockskye will bring many improvements to the travel booking and management process at MIT, including expanded availability of trained and dedicated agents, an automated quality control system to ensure booking accuracy, and a dedicated department to assist with group travel.
Important Action Item – Unused Tickets/Credits
Please note that if you have any unused tickets/credits booked under The Travel Collaborative or booked in Concur, we strongly encourage you to apply them by June 30, 2025, to a new reservation if practical for your travel needs. Unused tickets/credits will not transfer to Blockskye. The Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) is reaching out to all community members that The Travel Collaborative has identified as having unused tickets/credits.
Support Resources
Over the past several weeks, we have worked closely with Blockskye both to build a highly customized travel management system that fits MIT’s unique needs and to make this transition as easy as possible for all travelers. We are providing several resources to help you navigate this transition:
- A dedicated travel landing page, which offers helpful information related to the changes, details about booking travel, FAQs, contact information, and more;
- A dedicated email address for questions and support;
- Office hours every Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m., where the VPF Strategic Sourcing team will be on hand to answer your questions (https://mit.zoom.us/j/93209479252); and
- A campus-wide roadshow, where the VPF Strategic Sourcing team will explain the transition and answer your questions. To schedule a presentation for your DLCI, email travel-help@mit.edu.
If you have any questions about these resources or any other aspects of our transition to Blockskye, please reach out to our Strategic Sourcing team at travel-help@mit.edu.
Sincerely,
Katie Hammer
Vice President for Finance
