To the members of the MIT community,

I write to invite you to attend the public opening plenary of Solve at MIT 2024 featuring a panel of inspirational industry leaders, innovators, and artists from all over the world who are exploring the use of technology to solve complex global challenges.

During the opening plenary, attendees will hear from speakers such as Dr. Vanessa Kerry, World Health Organization Director-General Special Envoy for Climate Change and Health; Grammy-nominated artist Simón Mejía of Bomba Estéreo; Ken Moore, Chief Innovation Officer at Mastercard and 2020 Solver; and Temie Giwa-Tubosun, Founder and CEO of LifeBank, among many others. We’re thrilled to welcome so many changemakers for a conversation about how we can advance toward an equitable and sustainable future amidst crisis, pandemics, and climate disasters.

Opening Plenary: Changemakers in Action: Progress in Times of Crisis (register)
Wednesday, May 22, 2:00 p.m. ET
Kresge Auditorium (W16)

In addition to the public plenary, you can tune in to two sessions on May 23 via livestream. The morning plenary will focus on accelerating climate solutions with new approaches for addressing carbon pollution, extreme weather, and overheating. The afternoon plenary will address how we can create humane technology that also upholds social progress.

I hope you join MIT Solve for these inspiring and thought-provoking conversations.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Barnhart
