Dear colleagues,

Each day, we are heartened by the spirit of generosity we see at the Institute. Dedicated to helping solve global problems, the people of MIT are also committed to acting locally, providing support for our neighbors in Cambridge and Greater Boston. One important way this happens is through support of the MIT Community Service Fund (CSF). For 55 years, the CSF has helped turn the generosity of staff and faculty, and the ingenuity of MIT students, into real-world impact.

Over the past five years, through donations from staff, faculty, and retirees, the CSF has awarded nearly $400,000 to:

  • Provide reliable financial support to local nonprofits that engage MIT volunteers;
  • Empower MIT volunteers to develop leadership skills and apply creative problem-solving approaches to make a deep, long-term impact in local communities; and
  • Advance the Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center’s Social Impact Internship program.

We hope you will join us in supporting the MIT Community Service Fund. You may donate via payroll deduction on the Atlas “Charitable Contributions” page or by credit card on the Giving to MIT website.

For questions or assistance with your donation, please contact the MIT Community Service Fund at 617-253-7914 or csf-staff@mit.edu.

Sincerely,

Ramona Allen
