Dear MIT Community Members,

I would like to call your attention to several exciting community events this spring, including opportunities to participate in the celebration of "MIT 2016: A Century in Cambridge." These activities offer you the chance to volunteer for neighborhood agencies, serve as MIT ambassadors at the Open House, and support Moving Day by helping with several festive activities (see details below). I urge all supervisors and managers to support employees who would like to engage in these Institute events (pay guidelines for those who work at these events will be sent to the HR/AO communities next week).

Together in Service: Day of Service (Tuesday, April 19)

Join 500 of your MIT peers in a one-day volunteering opportunity supporting neighborhood agencies. Register today

Open House: Under the Dome - Come Explore MIT (Saturday, April 23)

MIT opens its doors for a free, day-long, campus-wide Open House to showcase the innovative work taking place on campus and beyond. I encourage you to bring your families, so they can get a glimpse of life at MIT. Sign up to staff the event

2016 All-MIT Diversity Forum: Reflect, Understand, Act (Friday, April 29)

I encourage all community members to attend some or all of the Diversity Forum. This event promises to be a day of learning and rich discussion. Again, I hope supervisors and managers can work with their employees to take part in this Institute-wide gathering.

Moving Day at MIT (Saturday, May 7)

MIT commemorates its move across the Charles River with a procession, competition, and a series of dance parties. Volunteers also can join in the festivities. Sign up to staff the event

Here's to a special April and May at MIT!

Best,

Lorraine A. Goffe-Rush
