To the members of the MIT community,

Last year, in consultation with the Vice President for Research, the Chair of the Faculty, and the Director of the Libraries, the Provost appointed a new Ad Hoc Task Force on Open Access to MIT’s Research. Composed of faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and staff, the group is exploring ways in which current policies and practices might be updated or revised to further MIT’s mission of disseminating the fruits of its research and scholarship as widely as possible. In pursuing this work, the Task Force is seeking broad input from the MIT community, including faculty, staff, and students.

I would like to invite you to attend one of two upcoming open forums to share your perspectives with the Task Force as they develop their recommendations.
