Celebrating MIT Staff on Thursday, June 8

To the members of the MIT community:

I am delighted to announce that on Thursday, June 8, we will honor the recipients of the 2023 MIT Excellence Awards + Collier Medal and the MIT Staff Award for Distinction in Service. As you all know, this will be my first time hosting the ceremony, and I’m told it’s a lively one! I hope you will join me in recognizing staff who represent the highest standards of excellence in leadership, innovation, inclusion, and service.

The Excellence Awards recognize staff for the many ways they contribute to fulfilling the mission and vision of MIT. The Collier Medal honors the memory of Officer Sean Collier, who gave his life protecting and serving the MIT community; recipients are individuals or groups who embody Officer Collier’s dedication and collegiality. The new Staff Award for Distinction in Service recognizes those whose service to MIT creates a positive, lasting impact on our community.
