On Wed, May 19, June 2021 Graduates who do not currently have access to campus through Covid Pass will be granted access to outdoor spaces for Commencement related-events; at the end of finals, access to campus for in-person learning will end; all graduates will be granted access to Covid testing through Covid Pass until June 15; and MIT Medical will still serve those enrolled in an MIT student health plan through Aug 31.

Dear Graduates,

We are writing to you as our records show that you are on track to graduate from MIT this June. Congratulations! Please be aware of the following important updates about campus access, Covid-19 testing, and health care.

  • June 2021 graduates (living on- and off-campus) who do not currently have access to campus through Covid Pass will be automatically granted access to outdoor spaces on Wednesday, May 19 in the evening. After being added, graduates will be able to attend their department’s in-person Commencement-related events after acknowledging campus access policies and completing a daily health attestation.
  • Once finals end, access to campus for in-person learning will also end, and some departments may choose to remove access to research spaces for students who are graduating. Knowing some graduates may need access to testing for travel plans after Commencement, all graduates will be granted access to Covid testing through Covid Pass until June 15.
  • After June 15, graduates (now alumni) will no longer be able to receive regular Covid-19 testing through MIT Medical’s Covid-19 testing facilities unless their department has authorized them to continue working on campus. Also note…
    • Any student or graduate who believes they are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms and/or was exposed as a close contact, or is not feeling well for any reason, should contact their health care provider.
    • MIT Medical will still serve as the health care provider for anyone enrolled in an MIT student health plan through August 31.

If you have any questions about the above, please contact: covidapps-help@mit.edu.

Best of luck with your exams and final projects, and continue to check MIT Now for the latest updates.

Sincerely,

Cecilia Stuopis, MD, Medical Director, MIT Medical
