Report by the Committee to Assess Environmental Activities at MIT

Dear Colleagues,

We are writing to let you know that the final report: "Creating a Sustainable Earth: An MIT Research, Teaching, and Public Service Initiative for Understanding, Restoring and Managing the Environment" is now available.

The committee chaired by Professor Maria Zuber did a great job of assessing our resources and opportunities, and recommending an approach to advance and secure our leadership. We are grateful for the excellent work of the committee and we accept the report and its findings. We will shortly announce a plan to implement the recommendations, and we look forward to working with faculty to achieve the promise so well documented by the report.
