To Members of the MIT Community,

In 150 days last semester, our community celebration of MIT's 150th anniversary told the story of MIT more clearly and more confidently--and to a much broader audience--than it may have been told in decades. Through the shared experience of MIT150, we launched new intellectual conversations, gained a fresh sense of the deep values we hold in common, and had a whole lot of fun along the way.

The appreciative response from across the MIT community tells us clearly that some aspects of MIT150 deserve to be repeated. As we plan new anniversaries, like the 2016 centenary of MIT's move to Cambridge, we turn to you to hear firsthand what held the most meaning for you during our MIT150 celebration. Your reflections on the ideas you found most impactful will help us to continue to raise our ambitions, spark new collaborations and inspire a new generation of young people to help us invent the future.

To collect your reflections and ideas, we have brought back the Idea Bank--a crowdsourcing tool we use to capitalize on the creativity of the MIT community. We encourage you to visit the Idea Bank to see what other community members are saying, and to share your own MIT150 experience and ideas. As you reflect on MIT150, we'd like to know:

  • What did you find most surprising, meaningful or engaging during MIT150?
  • What events or ideas did you find most important and impactful?
  • What MIT150 activity inspired the most talk and interest among your peers and why?
  • What's the one thing we should absolutely continue from the MIT150 activities?
